Thank
you for visiting this website which provides information about the
Church of St. Nicolas, Old Shoreham, in the town of Shoreham-by-Sea,
West Sussex, in the Diocese of Chichester.
St. Nicolas’
Church is a parish church of the Church of England, and is situated in
St. Nicolas’ Lane off Upper Shoreham Road in north Shoreham. It was
built and consecrated to the glory of God, and dedicated in honour of
the fourth-century Bishop of Myra in Asia Minor who is the Patron Saint
of Seafarers and of Children, and also the historical person behind the
legendary figure of Santa Claus. It is a thriving place of worship,
attended by a cross-section of the community, including many young
families and children.
The church is normally open daily
between 10am to 3pm October to March and 10am to 4pm April to September.
